A Quick preparation for RAMADHAN (RAMZAAN)

1. Start reading Quran daily after Salat al-Fajr.

2. Spend some time listening to recitations from the Quran.

3. Train yourself to go bed early so that you can wake up far Salat al-Fajr.

4. Keep yourself in a state of Wudu (Ablution) most of the time.

5. Evaluate yourself daily before going bed.

6. Thank Allah for good deeds, and repent to Him for your mistakes and sins.

7. Start giving Sadaqah daily, no matter how little. Make it a habit like eating and drinking.

8. Find time to pray extras, such as Tahajjud prayers.

9. Spend more time reading Islamic books, especially the Quran, Hadith.

10. Find time to help others with your wisdom, knowledge and other talents.

11. Try to write articles on Islam for Muslims as well as for non-Muslims.

12. Associate with Muslim scholars / ulama and other pious people so that you may learn from them.

13. Train yourself to do good, render free service to others to seek the pleasure of Allah.

14. Spend free time in Masajid, Islamic organizations and make that a daily habit.

* Avoid/reduce watching TV; instead spend more time reading the Quran and other Islamic literature.

* Avoid looking at unlawful pictures, whether magazines, department store catalogs or others.

* If you smoke, try to reduce daily usage; otherwise Ramadan will be very difficult for you to observe.

* If you have friends who do not practice the teaching of Islam, try to avoid socializing with them.

* If you travel a lot on business, try to do more local business, so you can be more closer to your family and community.

* If you are used to staying up till midnight, try to go to bed earlier, so that you will be able to wake up early for Salat al-Fajr and Tahajjud prayers as well.

To prepare ourselves before the month of Ramadan arrives is far better than waiting till it comes. To prepare ourselves for anything in life is a sign of wisdom and maturity. No one is assured of living one day more; tomorrow may not come. So hurry and benefit from blessings and rewards from Allah.

Everyday is Mothers Day

One day a man came to see the Prophet Muhammad (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam). It seemed that he was trying to solve something but couldn't quite work it out. So he asked the Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam). ''Tell me, O Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam)!'' I have many relatives and many friends whom I love, and whom I wish to care for and help. But I often find it difficult to decide which of them has the greatest claim upon me? Which of them should come first?'' The Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam) replied immediately, ''Your mother should come first and before all others.''

The man was very pleased to have this clear guidance from the Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam). But of course there were all his other relatives and his friends, so he asked ''and after my mother, who has the greatest claim upon me?'' The Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam)'s reply this second time surprised him. ''Your mother!'' he said again.

The man wondered why the Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam)was repeating himself. Perhaps he had not spoken clearly, the man thought, so he asked the question again, ''What I want to know is, after my mother, who has the greatest claim upon me? Again the Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam) said ''your mother!''

Your mother, your mother, your mother!

The Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam) had now said it three times. Slowly, the man realized why he had done so. ''The Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam) means that my mother is extremely important, so much so that my duty to her must be stressed over and over again. Even so, the man's thoughts ran on, ''what about all the others I love and wish to care for?'' Still uncertain and wanting to know more, he once again turned to the Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam) and said, ''and after my mother, who comes after her? Is there anyone besides her?'' The Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam) then replied ''after your mother, your father.'' ''And then?'' asked the man. ''Then people who are nearest to you,'' said the Prophet (Salallah-o-Alaeh-e-Wasallam).
