About khwab
khwab helps you understand what your dreams might mean. For every symbol in our dictionary, we offer a clear, secular interpretation grounded in common dream-symbolism and psychology, alongside the classical Islamic reading attributed to Imam Muhammad Ibn Sirin, cited by source and page so you can verify it yourself.
Why we built khwab
Most dream dictionaries online repeat the same few sentences across thousands of pages, or answer with generic, machine-written filler. We wanted something different: a dictionary where each entry is written to actually say something about the symbol, and where a centuries-old Islamic source is treated as a real reference, not a marketing hook, cited, page-numbered, and left as close to its original meaning as translation allows.
How we write our interpretations
Each general interpretation draws on the common psychological reading of dream symbols: what a snake, a flood, or a missing tooth tends to represent across dream-interpretation traditions, and why. We write toward the specific symbol rather than reusing a template, and we review entries over time to remove filler, tighten hedging, and fix anything that reads as generic or machine-written.
Our Islamic sources
Where a genuine classical entry exists, we cite Imam Muhammad Ibn Sirin's Dictionary of Dreams According to Islamic Inner Traditions, with the source term and page number noted on the page itself. We treat this as a real citation, not decoration: if we can't trace a meaning to the source, we don't attribute it to Ibn Sirin.
What we cover
Several hundred dream symbols across animals, nature, people, objects, emotions, actions and everyday life, available in Bengali, Hindi and English. Coverage varies slightly by language while we continue translating and reviewing entries; where a language doesn't yet have its own version of a symbol, we show the Bengali original rather than leaving the page blank.
Content quality and updates
Entries are periodically reviewed and rewritten, not just published once and left alone. When we substantially revise a page, we date it, so you can see how recently that specific entry was actually looked at.

Dream interpretation is reflective, not predictive. Our Islamic interpretations cite classical sources but are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified scholar who knows your situation, and nothing on khwab is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Who runs khwab
khwab is an independent, small-team project. We don't have a large editorial staff or a call center, just people who read every message and take corrections seriously.
