Anxiety — Islamic interpretation

Dream interpretation

Distress in a dream signifies atonement for one's sins and restitution of his human dignity. To experience distress in a dream also signifies regret for something wrong one has committed. If one's distress dissipates, and if he is relieved from its burden in his dream,

IBN SEERlN'S it means repentance from his wrongdoing. In a dream, distress and sorrow mean being in love or suffering from one's devotion to his beloved. (Also see Uptight; Worries)

From Imam Muhammad Ibn Seerin's Dictionary of Dreams According to Islamic Inner Traditions — entry "Anxiety" (page 13) — resolved via the equivalent "Distress" entry.

Note: Islamic dream interpretation depends on the dreamer's circumstances and state. This is a general guide drawn directly from the source book.

These interpretations are reflective and cultural — not predictions, and not medical, psychological, financial, or other professional advice.
