Cat Dream Meaning

Dreaming of a cat usually stands for your independent side, the part of you that trusts its own instincts. A cat depends on no one, keeps to itself and holds on to a little mystery. So when a cat appears in a dream, it often shows that you want to make your own decisions.

• A calm, affectionate cat

This speaks of comfort and of being at ease with yourself.

• A cat hissing or scratching

This speaks of anger you are holding down, or of someone who seems likely to break your trust.

• A black cat

Superstition makes black cats frightening to many people, but in the language of dreams a black cat often stands for intuition, something you have already sensed deep inside.

• A kitten

This speaks of a new beginning, or of getting in touch with your own caring side.

In the end, a cat dream reminds you of one thing: trust your own inner sense instead of being swayed by what others say.
