Helicopter Dream Meaning

Dreaming of a helicopter often reflects an attempt to see a situation in your life from above, to step back and understand the bigger picture. What the helicopter was doing, and who was at the controls, shapes much of the meaning.

• Rising up in a helicopter

This usually reflects hope for a new opportunity or a promotion. It can also speak of a situation where you suddenly have much more control and freedom in your hands.

• A helicopter hovering in one place

Unlike a plane, a helicopter can hang still in the air. So a hovering helicopter shows that your mind is still wavering over a decision, unable to choose whether to move forward or back.

• A helicopter crashing

The scene is disturbing, but it is not a direct warning of danger. What it shows is a fear that the pressure to achieve too much, too quickly, will give way somewhere.

• Someone else flying the helicopter

Being a passenger instead of the pilot shows that, for now, you have left an important part of your life in someone else's hands.

Seeing a situation from above is a useful skill. Still, this dream reminds you that you never stop needing to keep your feet on the ground and understand what is really going on.
