Oil Dream Meaning

Seeing oil in a dream usually suggests that some work in your life is moving along smoothly. Oil has a strange nature, though. Once it gets on your hands it does not come off easily, and when it spills on the floor your feet slip. So this dream sometimes speaks of a situation where keeping everything under control is getting hard. Noticing the color and condition of the oil makes the meaning clearer.

• Oil in the kitchen

Cooking does not get far without oil, so this speaks of preparation that is close to paying off.

• Clear, clean oil

Your mind is calm now, and the road ahead looks fairly smooth.

• Cloudy or burnt oil

Weariness has built up in some work or relationship, and it is time to look at it with fresh eyes.

• Rubbing oil on your body

This speaks of self-care, a need to turn a little attention back to yourself.

• Spilling oil

If you feel afraid or ashamed when it happens, the feeling comes from a worry about waste, a fear that time or an opportunity is being lost.

• Buying or selling oil

This mirrors how busy your mind is with earnings and the household accounts.

In the end, this dream reminds you that keeping the wheels of life turning takes a little oil now and then, a little care.
