Playing Dream Meaning

Playing games in a dream usually brings together two feelings at once, the mind's natural joy and the urge to compete. Play is naturally linked with childhood, so this dream often comes from an urge to step outside rules and duties and be a little free, especially when work pressure starts to make life feel dull. The meaning is tied to what game is being played and how it turns out.

• Playing on a team

A wish to achieve something together with others is active in your mind right now.

• Winning a game

This speaks of confidence, and of a feeling that you are close to reaching a goal.

• Losing a game

This is not always a sign of disappointment. Often it simply points to being realistic about results.

• Breaking the rules, or walking out in the middle of a game

You feel uneasy inside about the usual rules that everyone follows.

• Playing with children

This is tied to simplicity and pure joy, something you feel you have lost in waking life.

In the end, a dream of playing says one simple thing: not everything in life needs to be taken so seriously.
