Actor Dream Meaning

Dreaming of an actor, especially seeing yourself as one, means that in some part of your life you are playing a role instead of being yourself. An actor on stage talks, laughs and cries as the character demands. In real life you often have to wear a mask to suit the situation too, and the strain of that is what shows up in this dream. The meaning changes with who is acting and how.

• Acting on a stage yourself

You feel pressure to prove yourself to someone. Perhaps at home or at work you always have to keep up a certain image.

• Forgetting your lines on stage

Losing your lines or freezing in front of the audience shows a fear, deep down, of being caught unprepared.

• Seeing someone you know as an actor

The dream raises a question about that person: how much honesty is there really in what they say?

• Watching a play from the audience

You are trying to look at something in your own life from a little distance, so that you can judge yourself from the outside.

Acting is not always deceit. Sometimes it is a temporary shelter that gets you through a hard time. Still, this dream reminds you that if you wear a mask for too long, you eventually lose the sound of your own voice.
