Carpet Dream Meaning

Dreaming of a carpet speaks of the foundation of your life and the comfort you have built around yourself. A carpet gives comfort underfoot, and this dream often comes when you feel the need for a reliable base in life. The meaning changes with the state of the carpet and what is being done with it.

• A new, soft carpet

You want a period of comfort in your life, or you are already enjoying it.

• An old, dirty or torn carpet

An old foundation or habit is no longer working, and it is time to change it.

• Something hidden under the carpet

This speaks of a truth you have avoided for a long time.

• A red carpet being rolled out

A red carpet laid out to honor someone shows a wish for recognition at work in your mind.

• Rolling up a carpet and moving it away

It is time to clear away an old chapter and make room for something new.

Whatever is hidden under the carpet comes out sooner or later. So however familiar and comfortable your foundation feels, it is worth looking underneath it once in a while.
